Paper flower animation
Use the capillary phenomenon of water to make animation effects

紙花動畫 (STEAM課程)



Material:

1. Paper (color paper, advertising paper, newspaper...)

2. Scissors

3. Double-sided tape

材料:

1.紙張 (色紙、廣告紙、報紙....)

2.剪刀

3.雙面膠






操作步驟:

1.先使用色紙與各種不同的紙張來剪出紙花
2.再剪出花蕊
3.組合紙花與花蕊
4.摺疊花瓣呈含苞待放狀

5.請小朋友在家長或大人協助下取盤子放水於盤中

上述動作完成後,請準備手機或攝影機
錄下將紙花放進裝水的容器中的景象



仔細觀察會發生什麼樣的變化

 

問題 1.為什麼紙花碰到水會開花?你觀察到甚麼?

2.不同大小紙花開花速度速度都一樣嗎?
3.相同大小紙花但不同紙質花開的速度有不同嗎?







原理:

紙花開花的原理與毛細現象有關。 

當紙張在乾燥的情況下,將紙張摺起,造成纖 維被彎折;

而將紙張放置水面上,水會因毛細現象進入紙張,進而使纖維吸水,而吸收 水分的纖維會被撐開,促使纖維回復成原本的樣貌。 

看起來就像是紙花的花瓣漸漸盛開。

給老師與家長
1.紙花開完了可以撈起來晾乾,等乾燥後又可以再使用
2.花瓣長度不要太長,會不夠力量張開。建議花瓣內折不超過圓心
3.花蕊的步驟設計為提高開花成功率,因為花蕊略撐高花瓣。
4.請注意花瓣內折時須高於花蕊!
5.檢查勿被花蕊卡住花瓣以致無發張開花瓣

Question:

Principle:
The principle of paper flower blooming is related to the capillary phenomenon.
When the paper is dry, fold the paper, causing the fibers to be bent;
Put the paper on the water surface. Water enters the paper due to capillary phenomenon, which makes the fibers absorb water, and the fibers that absorb the water will be stretched out, prompting the fibers to return to their original appearance.
It looks like the petals of a paper flower are gradually blooming.
For teachers and Parents
1. After the paper flowers bloom, they can be picked up and dried, and can be used again after drying
2. The petal length should not be too long, it will not have enough strength to open. It is recommended that the petals should not be folded inward beyond the center of the circle
3. The steps of the stamen are designed to increase the flowering success rate, because the stamen slightly supports the high petals.
4. Please note that the petals must be higher than the stamen when they are folded inward!
5. Check that the petals are not caught by the stamens so that the petals are not open.
