Tornado in a Bottle!

雖然我們所在的地方也許很少有龍捲風這樣的災害，或是可以看到漩渦的景象。

但有時在媒體上會看到大自然中這樣可怕的景象。

我們可以再家中用簡單的工具與材料製造出這樣的視覺效果

材料
   1.透明寶特瓶 X 2
   2.保麗龍膠或快乾
   3.絕緣膠帶
   4.剪刀或美工刀

給家長與老師：

這課程有兩段，前面的製作會是個基礎，重點放在後段讓孩子發揮創意，使水龍捲這樣的裝置變成有故事性有趣的玩具。所以，大人們可以先做一個給小朋友們玩，讓他們先1.發現現象、2.探索原理 再進行最後階段3.創造創意，最後瓶子的水籠捲不再只是科學玩具。這就是STEAM的精神。

For parents and teachers:  
There are two sections in this course. The first production will be the principle and basis of the course, and the focus will be on the latter to let children develop their creativity. The tornado in a water bottle becomes a toy with interesting stories. Parents can make a game for the children first, let them 1. discover the phenomenon, 2. explore the principle and then 3. create creativity. Let the water cage roll of the bottle no longer be just a science toy. This is the spirit of STEAM.

製作：

  1. 將兩個寶特瓶瓶蓋先取下，再中間挖出約 1CM的洞 (讓孩子探索的第一個我通常會挖大一些 約1.2公分，這樣水龍捲出現較無須技巧)
  2. 兩瓶蓋背對背使用保麗龍膠黏上。也可以在大人協助下使用快乾 (須注意安全，避免噴濺與吸入！小朋友勿自己使用！)
  3. 將瓶蓋外用絕緣膠帶纏緊，可以多纏幾圈會比較耐久
  4. 其中一透明寶特瓶裝半瓶水(裝一半即可，因為水太多容易使瓶蓋黏接處鬆脫)
  5. 旋緊瓶蓋就完成了！
How to make:
1. Remove the caps of the two PET bottles first, and then dig a 1.2cm hole in the middle
2. Use styrofoam glue to glue the two bottle caps back to back. You can also use the quick-drying with the assistance of adults (Be careful to avoid splashing and inhalation! Children should not use it by themselves!)
3. Wrap the bottle cap with insulating tape tightly, you can wrap it a few more times, it will be more durable
4. One of the transparent bottled half bottles of water
5. Tighten the cap and you are done!

做出一對瓶子套筒，上下各一個來說一個有趣的故事吧！

給老師與家長：

透過仔細觀察水龍捲中間是中空的。當瓶子剛倒過來時水因為下面瓶子空氣壓力，上方水瓶裡的水並不會落下，輕輕搖晃一下會發現有些其泡上升，水逐漸越來越多往下流也越來越多氣泡往上，就形成像龍捲一樣的現象，也可在水中加入一些金粉或染劑方便觀察。也可放入造型物增加趣味。

孩子創意可以透過有趣的觀察實驗，再讓孩子發揮創意進行轉化！以培養孩子的創造力。如果只是有趣玩一玩不免浪費一個好的課程。希望課程能有層次與質感。不會只是「就這樣啊！」

By observing the water spout in the bottle, it can be seen that the center is hollow. When the bottle is just turned upside down, the water in the upper bottle will not flow down because of the air pressure in the lower bottle. Shake it lightly and you will find some bubbles rise. The water gradually flows down and more and more bubbles rise. , It forms a phenomenon like a tornado. For observation, some gold powder or dye can be added to the water to facilitate observation. You can also add modeling objects to add fun.

Children’s creativity can be transformed through interesting observations and experiments, and then let the children use their creativity! Can cultivate children's creativity. If you just play for fun, a good course may be wasted. I hope that the courses I design can be layered and textured. It’s not just "That’s it!"
